We’re getting down to the wire now. Christmas is only five days away! Are you ready for it? Any last minute gifts you need to give? I have some ideas!
Unexpectedly my family was invited to some holiday events and I needed some presents. What to do??
I racked my brain. I could have gone and bought those cheap gift sets you see at Wal-Mart. But those aren’t really personal and I love personalizing gifts for people. Instead I thought about who I was needing gifts for. Then it was simple: handmade washcloths and towels with handmade towel toppers for the ladies and Nerf guns for the gentlemen. Why Nerf guns? Have you seen them lately? There are some cool Nerf toys out there and why not get them for the guys? In fact, why not for girls too? I have one. My kids and I have Nerf wars in the house and it’s F.U.N. ! So much so that I thought it’d be a great idea to do the same thing for grown men. They’ll get a grin out of it at the least. 
To the ladies I added some Bath and Body Works shower gel and lotion. They always have that buy 2/3 get one free sale. Perfect time to stock up on many of the seasonal scents or the general favorites. Then, find some quirky washcloths and a hand/face towel. Put in a seasonal gift bag and throw in some peppermints (if they like them) or some chocolates and you are set! And if the recipient doesn’t like the scent you chose then they can always re-gift, right?
The important thing is to throw some thought and fun into what you are giving. Even if whomever the gift is for doesn’t like the gift, if you put in the time and the effort of really thinking about what they will like it will show, and they will be touched.
Well, I’m off to go fight the good fight and try to make it back alive from finishing up Christmas shopping. Santa’s elves never rest!
